I don't often shoot black & white. But sometimes it's better for a concept than color. Yes, I do think about it in advance.
Also in this case. The theme was ripped jeans. The photo shows them not so teared up but further a long the holes got bigger and bigger. The jeans are probably thrown away by now.
Though we had the shoot in the studio of Eileen, we deceided to shoot in a not so studio-setting. Not on a plain background. Just the side of the studio in front of the wall and on the floor.
Sometimes it can be so simple and more beautifull. You don't have to make it complicated everytime.
The light camera from a flash with a large softbox on the left side of the camera, closely placed to Eileen. A reflectionscreen was placed on the right side to fill in the shades and the shutterspeed was kept just long enough to caputer a bit of extra light from outside.
