Autumn brings some of the most beautiful sunsets. August and September are excellent months for this, too. It's certainly worth taking your camera outdoors for a change. Combine a beautiful model with the right conditions, and you can create stunning photographs. Especially if you take the time to find a good location. Being photographed outdoors with your bare bottom exposed is quite a different experience from posing in a studio.

The location was a country estate near Haarlem, and the timing was perhaps half an hour before sunset. The sun was still just peeking over the trees. Photographing directly into the sun was a deliberate choice, too. It creates wonderfully soft contrast. Combined with a warm white balance set in the camera, the backlighting creates a lovely summery atmosphere.

The model's carefree nudity adds an extra touch of warmth to the photograph. Letting the skirt fall breaks up the composition. The white fabric creates a contrasting area in the image and draws attention to Sofie's bottom.

No flashes or reflectors were used for this photograph. Just the camera and a lens. It's all about observing carefully, setting the camera correctly and giving the image a warm finish in post-processing. Photography is about telling stories, about communicating. And sometimes, you don't need much to do that.
