When you get the offer to shoot in a castle; never decline. It's the type of location you do not always get the change to shoot. And offcourse it's a very special setting.
This castle in Belgium was completely rented by a group of photographers and models. We had all the time to give the right attention to our photos. And I needed it. This spot in front of the castle was a big terrace filled with seats and tables. I thought it wouldn't fit in the image and with 15 other guys we took them all away. Those are the details that make or break a photo.
The light in the photo came from an Elinchrome Quadra with an octagonal softbox. It was positioned a little bit abouve my shoulder. By choosing a relative quick shutterspeed I damped the daylight a little bit. The flash balanced the light on the model but keeps the castle a bit more in the dark.
